Toronto Botanical Garden is hosting a conference on Green Roofs on February 21, 2008.
The conference is targeted to the professional designer, horticulturist, building construction professional, engineer, urban planner and the keen homeowner who would like to be able to get the complete picture on the how’s and why’s of green roofs and to meet the people who can do all aspects of the work. The content will cover design, plants, biodiversity and technical considerations. There will be a separate, half day course offered the following day providing more in-depth information on biodiversity and green roofs. The day will culminate in a cocktail reception designed to allow people to network and meet the professionals.

Toronto Botanical Garden is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of the Green Roof Conference through:

  • Decreasing the amount of solid waste produced by the event
  • Reducing energy and water consumption at the event
  • Minimizing or off-setting harmful emissions resulting from vehicular transportation and energy consumption in association with the event
  • Disposing of solid and liquid waste in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Eliminating the use of harmful chemicals at or for the event
